Welcome Kinkajous!

Kaya Kinkajou sitting in a blanket

The Animal Park at the Conservators Center is thrilled to announce the arrival of two wonderful kinkajous: Raul, who turned 29 on June 27, and Kaya, age 7.

Raul has been a part of our Park for years, though he’s lived off-site since 2014. He and Kaya have joined us from another facility and are settling into the space formerly occupied by Aleco and Abigail kinkajous for a temporary stay at the Park.

Kinkajous are native to Central and South America. These nocturnal creatures are known for their love of fruit, with mangos (and cooked sweet potatoes) topping Raul’s list. Both Raul and Kaya enjoy a balanced omnivore diet, including hard-boiled eggs, Greek yogurt, and cottage cheese, along with plenty of fresh fruit.

Kaya has a playful personality—we hear she excelled in educational programs at her previous home—and a penchant for hiding in unexpected places, a trait common among these curious animals. While she seeks out cozy spots like baskets and bins to snuggle with blankets, Raul prefers to prance around and explore independently.

We can’t wait for you to meet these adorable characters and learn more about kinkajous! Stay tuned for updates on their adventures at the Park.
