Meet a pair of Linnaeus’s two-toed sloths! These as-yet-unnamed residents arrived at the Park under unique circumstances, finding refuge here after their previous facility lost power during a winter storm. While they initially were booked for a short-term stay, we’ve happily extended our hospitality to welcome them long-term, thanks to the generosity of donors who provided funds for their specialized new habitat. Extra thanks go out to contributors who chipped in for the cause at last year’s Lions, Tigers & Beer fundraiser!
Linnaeus’s two-toed sloths, native to the rainforests of South America, are renowned for their relaxed lifestyle. Our pair truly embody the art of chill, spending up to 15 hours a day asleep, and active (well, at least a little) at night. When awake, they’ve shown a particular fondness for apples and sweet potatoes. One of these cuties is a blonde, outgoing character (maybe they do have more fun …), while the other with brunette fur is more reserved.
We can’t wait for you to meet these new residents and learn more about sloths. Plan your next visit soon, and stay tuned for updates on their adventures at the Park.
