Welcome to Our New Residents: The Animal Park’s Latest Additions

Ruckus Eurasian Lynx

If you haven’t visited the Animal Park lately, we’re excited to announce four new additions to our resident family!

Say hello to Ruckus, a six-month-old Eurasian Lynx. This frisky, playful, curious boy has been eagerly exploring his new space. He has made it clear that he’s a fan of hanging toys and “jolly egg” toys — and people.

He enjoys greeting two-legged visitors who pass by his habitat or stop to talk. And his are not just any greetings: He purrs up a storm, and verbalizes with a duck-like “quack”! The sound is so convincing that Park staff at first thought someone must have a duck ringtone on their phone.

We’ve also welcomed Tito, an adorable three-year-old fennec fox who will be a companion to Tiya. He is slightly shy but has let our animal care staff know that he likes puzzle feeders and toys that fit in his mouth so he can carry them around.

And last but certainly not least, Jean and Logan New Guinea Singing Dogs (“singers”) have joined the Park! These bonded buddies are around 7 years old. Since arriving at the Park, they’ve settled right in to their new home across from Omot and Kabaka Lions, near our dear senior Sweetness New Guinea Singing Dog.

Named for Logan’s (AKA Wolverine’s) crush in the X-Men universe, Jean has superpowers of her own. As singers can often be, she’s an excellent climber—as soon as she arrived at the Park, she quickly proved she could scramble into the bed of a pickup, onto the top of a den box, or even higher if the vantage point were called for. Jean is slightly shy but very curious about human visitors and her dingo neighbors.

Named for Wolverine’s alter ego, Logan immediately started adding his melodious voice to the Park’s chorus. His climbing abilities aren’t as strong as Jean’s, but he’s still very confident in his overall prowess. He seems pretty sure that he could take out the tigers next door, and he’s already invested significant time in staring contests with a 500-plus-pound lion neighbor.

Ruckus, Tito, Jean, and Logan are available for Lifetime Adoption. Be one of the first to support and get to know these new residents!
