Visitor Services Associate (Part Time)

A Visitor Services Associate is the smiling face all guests see when they arrive, helping set the tone for an amazing experience at the park. This customer service position requires an upbeat personality and the ability to communicate effectively in every way. The Visitor Services Associate works in the Visitors Center, which includes a Gift Shop where visitors check in and make purchases, where guests inquire about volunteering or donation opportunities, and where volunteers check in for assistance and to offer help. The Visitor Services Associate is also responsible for maintaining public and office areas, Gift Shop restocking, and supporting other staff as needed.Â
RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Create a welcoming experience for every guest!
- Managing visitor scheduling using software and communicating via phone calls and emails
- Answering phones and returning calls
- Greeting and checking in guests for their tour or visit, supporting tour guides as needed
- Facilitating walk-in guests having an enjoyable experience even if we can’t host them immediately
- Running a register for processing Gift Shop purchases and other payments
- Assisting with Gift Shop inventory and stocking displays
- Effectively providing potential donors information and steering them to the correct personnel
- Maintaining the cleanliness of the Visitors Center and the surrounding outdoor public areas, and stocking supplies as needed
- Supervising volunteers assisting with day-to-day Visitor Services tasks
- Maintaining a professional and positive attitude with other staff, guests, and our community
- Assisting as needed in public facing roles such as driving the golf cart for visitors needing mobility assistance
- Other tasks as assigned by the supervisor or management
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Upbeat with a positive attitude and a desire to help us succeed
- Ability to work weekends and holidays – some weekday shifts available
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, including reading, writing, and telephone skills
- Problem solving and critical thinking skills, including knowing when to ask for assistance
- Basic skills with Google Drive and applications required; point of sale system (Square) experience preferred;Â a variety of software experience is ideal but training is available
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to follow through with projects and tasks independently
- Ability to work actively on your feet for at least 6 hours per shift
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. on occasion
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Must be 18 years old
- Previous experience not required
LICENSING, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION
- Valid US driver’s license required
- First Aid/CPR, or completed within six months of hire; offered on-site
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Requires working most weekends and some holidays
COMPENSATION
- This position offers a starting salary of $9/hr. for qualified individuals
