Looking for a job that’s wildly different? We are currently looking for candidates to join our Visitor Services team to work both weekday and weekend shifts, full or part-time. As a Visitor Services Associate, you will be the smiling face every guest sees when they arrive, helping set the tone for an amazing experience at the park.

Qualifications:

  • Upbeat with a positive attitude and a desire help us succeed
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays – some weekday shifts available
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, including reading, writing, and telephone skills
  • Basic skills with Microsoft Office, Google Drive, and Excel software applications. Experience with Square and Fare Harbor is preferred; training is available
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to follow through with projects and tasks independently
  • Ability to work actively on your feet for at least 4 hours per shift
  • Ability to lift at least 35 lbs. on occasion

Key Roles:

  • Create a welcoming experience for every guest!
  • Managing visitor scheduling using software and communicating via phone calls and emails
  • Answering phones and returning calls
  • Greeting and checking in guests for their tour or visit, supporting tour guides as needed
  • Facilitating walk-in guests having an enjoyable experience even if we can’t host them immediately
  • Running a register for processing Gift Shop purchases and other payments
  • Assisting with Gift Shop inventory and stocking displays
  • Processing mail including logging and facilitating internal delivery
  • Effectively providing potential donors information and steering them to the correct personnel
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the Visitors Center and the surrounding outdoor public areas, and stocking supplies as needed
  • Supervising volunteers assisting with day-to-day Visitor Services tasks, and facilitating access for others
  • Limited cross-training in the handling of educational animals is a possibility for the right candidate
  • Maintaining a professional and positive attitude with other staff, guests, and our community
  • Assisting as needed in public facing roles such as driving the golf cart for visitors needing mobility assistance
  • Starting hourly wage: $8.00 hr for part time and $10.00 for full time
