For our organization’s Phase 2 COVID response, we have instituted the following policy:

*UPDATED JANUARY 26, 2022*

Effective immediately the Animal Park will not require its employees, volunteers, or visitors to wear masks or face coverings while indoors or outdoors, with the exception of where social distancing can not be maintained.

This new protocol is consistent with Centers for Disease Control and State of North Carolina guidelines and covers all employees, volunteers, and visitors regardless of vaccination status.

• Encouraging guests to fill out the digital online waiver prior to visiting the Park. You can find them here.
• Restrooms will be limited to one group at a time (a group is a family or car unit that arrived together at the Park).
• Groups have been advertised as 25 people for public tours.
• Sanitizing and disinfecting will happen on all surfaces in the Gift Shop, building, and the bathrooms after every group.

Are you opening for business? 

Yes! After carefully reviewing the guidance from our state and local government officials, we are very excited to welcome guests safely back to the Animal Park at the Conservators Center. We’ve implemented many new techniques and procedures around the Park that adhere to proper social distancing and safety guidelines to allow our guests peace of mind while getting back out into nature and learning all about our animal residents here at the Animal Park! 

Is your facility safe to visit? 

The Animal Park’s top priority has and always will be our guests’ safety, enjoyment, and educational takeaway from our tours. We are committed to providing our guests a safe and worry-free way to enjoy the Animal Park and all of the animal residents we house here. Our Park is following Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines to ensure that we keep our facility clean and safe for all. We have enhanced our cleaning procedures, established social distancing procedures, made hand sanitizer available, limited contact with staff by offering digital waivers to fill out prior to visiting, and asked that all guests and visitors to the Park wear face masks as appropriate. These policies and procedures not only keep our guests safe, but also our staff and, of course, our animals.

Is it crowded? 

The Animal Park always has plenty of room to spread out, especially during tours! The Park is going to great lengths to ensure all guests feel safe and at ease during their visit. This includes the steps we’ve taken to lower the number of crowds and allow our guests to practice proper social distancing. This is why we have currently limited our Adventure tours to 25 guests per tour, or 20 guests for private tours. 

How do you plan to regulate Gift Shop and the Education Room? 

We’re adopting many updated practices to help give you peace of mind while checking in or out at the Animal Park! We’ve implemented arrows on the floor and ask that groups flow properly through both rooms and maintain social distancing from other groups they did not arrive with at the Park.
